According to the Global OTT TV & Video Forecast report from Digital TV Research global OTT TV and video revenues will reach $51.1 billion in 2020; a massive increase from the $4.2 billion recorded in 2010 and the $26.0 billion expected in 2015.

According to a new report from Digital TV Research, the Global SVOD Forecast report, the number of SVOD (subscription video on demand) homes is forecast to reach 428 million across 200 countries by 2021, up from 177 million in 2015 and an expected 248 million by end-2016.

Parks Associates recently released its updated top 10 list for subscription over-the-top (OTT) video services, based on number of subscribers, with Netflix retaining its top position while services Sling TV, Showtime, and CBS moved up or entered the list over the past year.

Data from Juniper Research forecasts that revenues from SVOD services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, are set to more than double from $14.6 billion (€13.2bn) this year, to $34.6 billion in 2021. Netflix now has US subscriber numbers that are level with the nation’s leading network providers DirecTV and Comcast (47 million and 47.7 million respectively).
